The representatives of EMAfilms, T&A Films, the RKSS Collective and Jason Eisener announced that the Canada-New Zealand co-production will receive finding from Telefilm Canada and the New Zealand Film Commission.
The project is scheduled to go into production in late February 2014 and tells of an orphaned outcast who becomes a hero in a post-apocalyptic world.
The production partners met at the first edition of the Fantasia International Film Festival’s Frontières International Co-Production Market in July 2012 where Turbo Kid was one of the projects.
